Weatherization Assistance Program

Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) enables low-income families to reduce their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Funds are used to improve the energy performance of dwellings families in need, using the most advanced technologies and testing procedures available in the housing industry. Who is eligible for this program? To be eligible for this benefit program you must be a South Carolina resident and you must need help with home energy costs. Preference is given to: Elderly – 60 years of age and older, Disabled - Families with one or more members with a disability, Households with children under age 18. How do I apply for the Weatherization Assistance Program?

To apply for this program, contact the local Community Action Agency that serves the weatherization program in your county. Weatherization available for program-eligible residents in the following counties: Greenville (Contact: Maurice Pieters at (803) 648-6836 ext. 224) / Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens (Contact: Damian Proctor at (864) 229-8870).
