Who We Are

The Oolenoy River Baptist Educational and Missionary Association has a very rich and proud heritage. The Association was organized in August 1882 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. We are deliberate in preserving the history of the Oolenoy River Baptist Association History and Future by Proclaiming to each generation about the goodness of the Lord in establishing the 11 current and future Churches that make up this Association without regards to ethicality or ecclesiastical persuasion.

The Oolenoy River Baptist Educational and Missionary Association will be supportive of the total community, spiritually, socially, physically and in other appropriate areas of necessity where no other organization can proficiently satisfy.

The Association will provide a formal mechanism and structure for the presentation of Christian life, expression, and spirituality to the residents of Pickens County-Wide/Vicinity and throughout the world.

The Association will serve as an outreach to the local community by making its spiritual resources and expertise available to the residence of Pickens County by coordinating the efforts of our individual churches, by participating in community, religious and cultural programs and by becoming actively involved in the civic concerns of the community when feasible.

The organization functions as a straightforward structure organization. The leadership consists of; Moderator, Vice-Moderator, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Pastor of Member Churches, and Auxiliary Presidents (i.e., Brotherhood, Congress of Christian Education, Association Choir, Association Ushers, Women's Auxiliary, Women's Union, and Ushers). With the Moderator elected to serve a five-year term. These offices constitute the Association's Executive Board.
